Hop on down to the annual Big Brothers Big Sisters picnic in Columbia Park, Saturday, September 25, noon to 3 p.m. Everyone is invited! Big Brothers, Big Sisters, Little Brothers, Little Sisters, families, board members and agency staff. We hope to see you there for fun, food, entertainment, games, prizes and more! African American Evening of Impact, Sept. 30

2010 African American Evening of Impact

In an effort to provide more African American children with African American volunteer mentors, Big Brothers Big Sisters Columbia Northwest will host the 2nd annual African American Evening of Impact fundraising event. The event is Thursday, Sept. 30, 2010 at the Rose Room at the Rose Quarter at 6:30 p.m. The public is invited to RSVP to (impact.2010@bbbs.org) by September 16.

Margaret Bernstein, a national leader on the topic of African American male recruitment will be the keynote speaker at the event. She is a reporter for Cleveland’s The Plain Dealer; 2000 national Big Sister of Year winner; Big Sister to two girls; and co-author of The Bond: Three Young Men Learn to Forgive and Reconnect with their Fathers.
